I have heard so many people saying they wish they gone straight to IVF - maybe that's why we ruled out IUI. We just didn't feel good about it. IVF is more invasive but that doesn't bother either of us

You must be feeling so incredible to be 16 weeks!!! That's so exciting! Are you going to try and find out the gender at the 20 week scan?

My DP wants to pay $99 at one of those imaging places to find out now! I'm still sitting on the fence about it because its $99 we could spend on the baby. She's so excited and really wants to buy little clothes for bub. I can see where she's coming from because it would be great to see baby, but were going to find out the gender regardless. We don't care if its flowers and fairies or trucks and mud! We 'think' it might be a boy, but we really have no idea, lol!

Hi Best things, congrats! We're in north bris and decided to go to IVF but had a few meetings with Life Fertility. Haven't been that impressed, nurse on the phone is really not that helpful. Why did you move to QFG is you dont mind me asking? We're supposed to be having councillor meetings in the next few days but dont want to go through with it if we decide that QFG is better?

    Hey,

I'm more than happy to give you a few of the reasons we changed.

    1. Whenever we called City Fertility the receptionists always seemed quite rude and uncaring. Having a nice friendly person on the other end of the call is very important to us because IVF and fertility treatments are extremely emotional things.

    2. When deciding between QFG and CF (Life was also in there but I found their donor sperm selection wasn't as large as CF or QFG and when I called around for price quotes they were more expensive for everything and refused to give me prices for other things) I found the receptionists at QFG were REALLY caring. Every time I called them with questions they knew all the answers and were so kind. They went out of their way to mail me information sheets, called back 10 minutes after I left a message or sooner, were generally more cheerful and organised. We went against our better judgement choosing CF over QFG because our GP recommended someone at CF.

    3. We had to wait 3 months for our appointment at CF! We were so excited we didn't sleep the night before. When we got to our appointment at 7am on a Saturday no one was there. No one answered the phone. No one answered the door. We couldn't get into the building. We were CRUSHED! We called the receptionist first thing Monday morning, we were upset and explained what happened. She was rude. It was our fault we missed the appointment. We were at the right place. Right time. She didn't know what happened. It was all on us. It's so rude of us to miss the scheduled appointment she said. She almost made me poor DP cry on the phone. She couldn't rebook us for another TWO WEEKS!!!

    4. After getting off the phone with the rude receptionist we decided to call QFG. We told the lady on the phone what happened. She felt so bad for us. She couldn't believe it! She said it takes a while to get in to consults... She said 'hmm lemme call you back'. 5 minutes later she was telling us that she'd squeezed us in with Ben Kroon THAT Friday and our counselling session would be the same day.

    5. Ben gave us so many free scans. He called us on the weekends. He asked how we were feeling. He let my DP do the insems. He consoled us when we didnt get pregnant. He hugged us when we did fall pregnant and congratulated us both on being mummies-to-be! He told us to bring our bubba in to see him. He was so organised. He was fun and kind and really helped us emotionally. No questions we asked were stupid. We never felt rushed out of his office.

We've never looked back. QFG were and are amazing. When we're trying for no. 2 they'll be the first to get a call!

If you're doubting your choice then just make a call. I mean, what's the worst that can happen? They can't book you in for a while so you stay with your original plans?

I'd call them and tell them that you're considering changing. Ask them if they can book you in for your counselling, sperm donor team chat and specialist appointment all on the same day. If they can't do that I'm sure they can split them up and get you in pretty quick. They even guarantee you see a specialist within a week.

We moved from a NSW clinic to one in the ACT (due to sperm donor restrictions) and our NSW transferred our paperwork to our new clinic. All tests and counselling reports etc were sent so that we didn't have to go through it again Maybe they could do the same if you decide to change clinics? I agree you should make a call and a tentative booking while you are deciding otherwise you may have a longer wait.

    Hi everyone,

I just found this group tonight. I just wanted to say hello. My gf and I have done one round of IVF (I plan on being the bio). We lost bubba at 6 weeks and have one frostie on ice. Tomorrow is our first FET. I would love to hear your stories and advice for us? We are on the Gold Coast and use QFG, our FS is Andrew Cary.
