Yes, you can get an OPI led light(much better then a UV, but they will still work), your meant to use it if you use the any of Gel ranges.

I can't see the link you posted the script is all over the place, but here are the ones i'm speaking about - http://www.opi.net.au/gelcolor.html If you check out their website, you'll be able to find tutorials and all you'll need to enhance/lengthen your polish.

I love OPI but I also love Bloom. I think it's about $13/polish, I bought a few from Target and I love their colours and they last for ages

I actually find Essie even longer lasting than OPI. You can get it in Myer. Give it a try!

Or yes Shellac is great for special occasions.

I like Essie It doesn't have some of the nasties in other nail polishes and it seems to last ages for me. The one nail polish I end up taking off before it chips.

Opi is my second favourite, I just took some off that lasted almost 2 weeks.

A friend of mine swears by Essie, I may have to try one of each.

So with shellac, you put it on like regular nail polish but need to set it with a UV light? Does it damage your nails like gel nails do? How does the polish come off?

Every time I got gel nails I swore I'd never get them again as they ruined my nails (only got them done 3 or 4 times) so I started just getting a French manicure done at a beauty salon instead.

It says "DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde free"

    Whatever that means!!

I'm sure it still has some questionable stuff in it but I find it's the best. Dries so quick.

    Butter London.

It has none of the nasty stuff in there. Great colours, and you can purchase them from a website called honey honey for about $19
