    Tabitha - DH hates it.

Violet - Same, but also when I say it I think of 'violent' (for some reason), and that puts me off. But I still think it's pretty.

    Lily - Too common.

Isobel/ Isabella - Twilight/ popularity wrecked it for me.

And also couldn't use all of the above, as DD has quite a classical/ traditional but unique name (unique, not ewneek), so now the pressure is on to find another one for #2!

    Isobelle/Isabella - pet named bella

I love Ethan and Zac, DH hates them

Couldn't use same name as a cousin on either side or my friends' kids names

Also no weird spelling, I always have to spell my name because it can be spelt two ways and it can get tiresome.

I like Lilly-Anne. Not Lillian, has to have the Anne sound. But we called our cat Lilly. I like Isabella but DF hates all the olden names. He likes names like James, Kaylah, kiara etc and I hate them lol. But James will be our first boy in respect for his father who passed, I think the reason behind it makes the name more attractive to me.

I just cant do the name Jessica. I love the name when it isnt abreviated, but I have come across sooooooooo many dogs and occasional horse named Jess or Jessie that I just cant do it.

I love the name Jacob, but would spell it Jakob, but So refuses because of the whole Twilight thing (stupid twilight)

SO Hates the name Delilah, I love it, but apparently she has bad associations with it. Mainly to do with he Mum, who is no longer with us and kareoke. Though apparently she has conceded defeat on the battle and I get to use it if I choose

I have a couple of names that I think sound like stripper names but keep them to myself cuz if it ever found out I'd be in trouble lol

My kids would've had long Māori names if we lived in NZ. I just can't handle the butchered pronunciation here. My good friend is 'Aroha' which is a very simple, common name and means 'love', but here she's 'Are-Row-Har' or 'Ottowah' or 'Ara-Har'...

So we stuck the long Māori names in the middle and use them amongst family and at home, if they decide to go back to NZ for boarding school they can use them there.
I've wanted to post on here for a while but didn't think anyone would know how to pronounce my preferred name anyway. I love love love 'Te Marino'. It was my great great great grand mothers name but one cousin used it as middle name and another as a first name. It's hard to get the name you want when you can't get pregnant and you have 60+ first cousins, haha. I have a Maori name and I'm constantly correcting people but it doesn't bother me.
