Does say it will be means tested!!
But as far as I'm concerned she would most likely have majority of the well off people backing her!!!
I totally agree and hope that she doesn't keep her job for too much longer!!

I think it will be means-tested the same way as the old one was. With the old way you had to be getting some FTB A or a payment was made for the child which prevented you from receiving FTB A.

$820 for every teenager at school and $410 for every primary school child, which will be paid to parents from next year in two instalments - at the beginning of the school year and in July.

One of full payments to be paid from next month.

I think she would win more votes if they actually put a plan in plan to fix the appalling public school system instead of throwing a few hundred dollars at parents, yes it will help a little short term but it's the long term that people want their children to benefit with better schools, more teachers and better equipment, or maybe help pay for after school care

I had no issues claiming the Education Tax refund (which this replaces) for entitlements. They are saying people were missing out by not claiming?
They are just throwing "CASH" at people now it seems. The old way you claimed the expenses you had paid out for. Now they seem to just throw a set amount to people under the means tested income limit.
Our income varies I would say for this financial year because of a small lump sum we received we wont be entitled for it and I wont be able to claim anything back now either which is a bit annoying.

That's something I guess she hasn't thought about!! While they class the cut off at a certain amount , school costs just as much for everyone!!

I wonder how long the $410 per school aged child will help the single parents being cut off at the knees?
