    Hey Everyone,

    Thank you so much for all of your suggestions. You have all got the brain ticking over again, it seemed to have frozen before.

    I like the idea of an afternoon birthday do, and the sausage zizzle idea with telling people to bring a plate and snacks.

    This is the first ever birthday I am organising and I know DD isn't really going to know whats going on but I just want to make that effort as after about the age of 6 or 7 I didn't have any special birthdays or anything.

    We are still debating where to have it as we can't agree on a venue.

    Might sit DP down on the weekend and tell him to either agree with me or I'll just make up my own mind!

    Assuming you haven't organized it yet, the other option is just to invite people for cake. Invites are easy just make sure you state "please join us for cutting of the cake at ...."

    Make it either before or after lunch and you can just provide cupcakes & a fruit platter.

    Personally I'd do the park thing - you can even theme it something like teddy bears picnic
