Default Pregnant with twins - freaking out

We just found out yesterday we are pregnant with twins...
Would love to hear from others who have been in a similar situation. I've got a nearly 2yr old ds and have no idea how ill manage 2 new babies and a more stressful pregnancy to boot...

Congratulations!! It's a very daunting prospect, finding out there's more than 1!! It took me months to come to terms with it, and I don't think you should feel guilty for any feelings you may have. I know I cried for at least 3 months of my pregnancy

There is a section of the forum for parents of multiples- it's a bit quiet atm, but it never takes much to spark it up! And everyone in there is very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you may have

OMG - I can totally relate to the shock, ours were naturally concieved so it's harder to believe when ur told I think!! I have a nearly 5 yr old DD . The thought of how I'm going to manage is beyond me at the moment!! How are you feeling? How's DH feel bout it?

    Congratulations

You will be fine. I found with the early days especially the time just flys past. I still can't figure out how the past 8.5yrs went by so fast.

My girls are fraternal and DD1 was 4.5yrs old when they were born. She started school when they were 2mths old.

I'm a twin, I think it's great but I can understand why youre freaking out, just think your 2 little babies will already have a playmate, the bond I have with my twin is stronger that the bond I share with my sister who is 2 years younger than us. Good luck and enjoy your twins

Wow, dancingtren - congratulations! You were in my due-in group back in 2010, and I remember your name from that!

I've had a few friends who've had twins (with older kids too), and who have had pretty straightforward pregnancies (no complications, and no need for bed rest, and babies went to 38 weeks before they were induced). I completely understand how you must be freaking out, but having seen some friends go through it I would say that it may be easier than you think.

When they are born it may be hard, but you will settle into a routine, and find a way to make it work for you. Do you have many friends or family around who can help you?

There is a multiple birth association too, and my friends have found them really helpful with everything - from support throughout the pregnancy, advice on what to buy (e.g., double prams), and help from other mums who have been there.

Also, don't forget that while the early stage might be hard, things will get easier with time, and you will have a beautiful little family to bring you lots of joy.
