We see it as unnatural and an incredible sacrifice to be celibate but Catholic priests and nuns who have the strong yearning to do God's work to the utmost level humanly possible don't think the same way.
I believe a married man cannot devote his time to prayer and give of his time to his parishioners the way a catholic priest can. It would be unfair on his wife and family. Priesthood is not just a job.
But are you suggesting that an Anglican priest or a Rabbi are somehow less devout because they may be married?

A lot of them are married, I really do not think that it's because they can't marry. That's like saying "oh we locked him up for messing with kids but it's ok now, he's married"
No these stats were of priests, not parishioners. As I said, married people abuse children too.

That was my point earlier. Being married doesn't mean you love god any less or can do the job any worse.

The focus on sex, mastur bation and marriage within the Catholic realm really baffles me personally.

I don't agree with the restrictions they place on people.

Meh, at the end of the day, it's a choice. A decision someone makes. The only person keeping them from marrying is themselves. You want to get married? Have s3x? Then don't be a priest! If their numbers dwindle and the Catholic Church collapses, then that's of their own doing isn't it!
