Default Should Catholic Priests be allowed to marry?

Following on from Father Kevin Lees announcement that he is married do you think priests should be allowed marry?

I think they should, it is unrealistic to expect anyone to be celibate. I know Fr Kevin and have attended some of his services although I'm not a parishioner. I found him to be a lovely man, I always wished our diocese would have a priest like him! He has a lovely manner and is a compassionate caring person. He knows how to love so perhaps that's what makes him a good priest. I have a good friend who recently went into the priesthood and whilst I admire him and think he is a wonderful priest I am sad for him that he has chosen a life of celibacy.

No, it'd cost the church too much.

Our Priest is ex-Army and is a single dad, but part of being a Catholic Priest is being committed to God like couples are committed to each other. So I say no

I like the concept of being 'separate' when one is God's administrator.

    It seems more 'holy'.

But the priesthood is struggling to maintain numbers and I think this would change it.

They still deserve equal rights though imo

As far as celibacy, if someone chooses that than it should be respected but it shouldn't be forced upon anyone. It's human nature to reproduce.

I think that the vow of celibacy is very dated. I think that humans are designed to love each other and if ALL people had the permission to do so freely (with consenting partners), it would remove the distraction of feeling unfulfilled and allow people to get on with...living and doing. I'm sure I have far more intelligent things to say on this matter but I haven't eaten dinner so I may come back once my blood sugar has returned to a fit place.
