    Default Baked beans??????

I hate them but ds likes them. But i would like to make them at home, pref without much sauce. Few questions-

Should I use canneloni or white navy beans?

If I was to buy tinned canneloni beans can I give them to ds straight from the can or do I need to cook them?

All the recipes I've read have brown sugar, golden syrup or something- do I really need to add this?

Navy beans, they do need to be cooked.

Honestly, I found it far to hard to cook them for the amount my kids eat.

I think you mean cannellini beans? Canneloni is pasta tubes with filling and sauce...
I think navy beans are the way to go but they are time consuming, TBH I just buy them for that reason, cheaper and faster!

The one I do literally takes 5 mins in 1 saucepan! ( I use organic beans/tomatoes)

    1 can navy beans
    1 can chopped tomatoes
    1 tbsp Dijon mustard
    1tbsp fresh parsley
1teaspoon coconut palm sugar ( lowest GI natural sugar)

Put all in pan and cook until boiled and simmer for 3 mins!

Thanks for the recipe E's Mum. Do you think I could freeze it? And can you get the sugar from woolies or just at a health food shop?

You can buy palm sugar at the supermarket in the asian section.

I use navy beans, no sugar.

Otherwise I do this one, a huge hit for kids here:
    1 can kidney beans
    1/2 cup chopped spinach
    2 tomatoes, crushed
    1/4 capsicum, finely diced
    2 mushrooms, sliced
Small amount of onion, finely diced

Stick in a pot, simmer for 5 minutes, serve with toast for a yummy breaky or brunch.

Don't buy palm sugar, buy organic coconut palm sugar, typically supermarket palm sugar has been refined and contains sugar cane, I've only ever seen coconut palm sugar in organic shops
I suppose you could freeze it? I have not tried!
