Default Anyone know how to cleanse a house of spirits?

I know there are rituals you can do but the variety is mindboggling. A lot of them seem to involve white sage but where do you get this? Have you ever done it, and what did you do? Do you think it helped?

I just can't get rid of the feeling the FIL is hanging around my house (he lived here for 40 years) but its not his house any more and I would like to send him onto somewhere more peaceful. He had a tough enough life and i think he deserves to go somewhere peaceful.

    Any suggestions people?

You can open all the windows and doors and light some sage, fan the smoke into every corner of the house repeating something along the lines of " I cleanse this house of negative energy and unwanted guests" or anything specific to why you want to cleanse. When I've done this I then salt my windows and doors with a positive affirmation of creating a barrier so the only guests I receive are invited. I've gotta do this in my new house some new visitors have been coming through.

You could try sitting quietly and speaking out loud to your FIL and let him know your looking after things he doesn't need to hang around

Thank you, I'll try that I haven't heard of the salt, i might look into that.

Very interesting choice of words though, 'looking after things'... that's coincidentally very close to the issue that *would* exist if he were hanging around. *cue x-files music*

I hope it works! I used to routinely do this to my room when I lived at home... Doesn't work on little sisters

If its your FIL you can probably just let him know

The salt is a barrier my mum taught me, remember positive visualizations!!! Good luck!
