We have a Lego room too, but it's DP's Lego room I made him pack away 3/4 of it, it was getting ridiculous!

In our unit it was in the big storage ottoman. With the rest of the toys being in boxes in the garage so they were rotated. Now that we have moved we have them outside in the yard and in a toy room! Bliss!

In the family room for us. No toys in bedrooms.

We use Ikea Trofast system http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S49819508/ its great! Mostly we have these units http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19819557/ full of different sized boxes. Just about to buy two more and a bunch of the smaller insert boxes to sort n store lego with.

In the playroom. She has one or two special toys on the bookshelf in her room but she knows not to touch them. They are more collectible toys given to her at birth. Once she is out of her cot though we will probably move these out of her room to a safer spot!
