My BFF went on it in 2006, was on it for three years.
Went from size 8 to 18 in those three years, had terrible skin issues.
She stopped it in June 2009 and only just started getting her period again earlier this year.
She has now been told that she has a very slim chance of ever falling pregnant due to the damage it has done to her reproductive hormones.

I haven't had Depo but I have had Implanon and my GP/OB told me it is the exact same hormone only one is in your arm and the other you have 3 monthly injections.
So if one works for you the other will.

Implanon was awful for me! Never again but I know a lot of people who've loved it and Depo.

Not always true. I have had implanon as well and while Depo agreed with me, Implanon certainly didn't!! I gained a lot of weight, my moods became erratic and it was horrible. Only thing I did like was no spotting and I fell pregnant 2 weeks after having it removed. Hated it! But loved Depo.

I was on Depo for 3 years prior to getting married, it was great during this time no AF and no side effects. I went off it after i got married and it took 6 months to get my first period. I then got pregnant with DS two months later. After i had my third child i went back on it, only had one injection but this time suffered terribly from migraines, weight gain and mood swings. It then took another 8 months to get my AF back and i have now been ttc for 12 months and counting I think it can affect different people at different times and that's the gamble you take with hormonal contraception.
