    Default eBay question

If you buy something on eBay using PayPal and the seller refunds your money where does it go? Will it stay in my PayPal account or go back into my credit card?

it will stay in your paypal, you can then transfer it into your bank account, but i think it takes 3-5 days

It stays in your PayPal account. You have to manually transfer the money into your bank account.

Ah ok. It's showing in my list of transactions as refunded and again as completed but my account balance is zero.

I 'think' it goes back to your PayPal account and then you transfer it out of there.

I know when I sold items the money went into my PayPal account and I had to transfer it back to my normal account so I'm assuming it's the same. But this was also a few years ago so it may have changed.

Sorry not much help am i haha.

Hmm well it's not showing in my PayPal account or on my card. It's not a huge amount of money so not too stressed more just curious.

It depends on the source of the refunded money. The same way in that if you pay using e-cheque, it takes a few days to clear into the sellers PayPal account.

I'm pretty sure you can't cancel an e-cheque so the refund is no doubt on its way.

Did PayPal refund you or did the seller refund you through PayPal? I think that's the difference between where the money goes.

Aaah ok that makes sense. They refunded because the item hasn't arrived and it's been 3wks (Sydney to Perth). Here's hoping it turns up still
