They're macaroons aren't they? Not macarons? I thought they were saying it properly too.

The correct French pronunciation is "macaron". I only caught the tail of last nights episode, but noticed that Matt pronounced it correctly.

Macaroon is a different type of biscuit all together, however they are often confused.

If you are eating the French merengue biscuit, it is a "Macaron", pronounced "on", not "oon".

    A macaroon is traditionally a little coconut cake/biscuit -
Macaron is the proper word for the little eggwhite/almond meal dome shaped chewy biscuits with the fillings ( Adriano always says Macaron , last year I'm sure he pulled gary up on it!)

We go to Zumbos all the time in Balmain, they are forever correcting people when they ask for "Macaroooons!"

nom nom macarons. I am soooooo jealous of you being able to go to Zumbos Elijah's mum.
However my DH has bought me a class with nic and rocco from MKR to learn how to make them, so hopefully I can get nice and fat at home pigging out on them...

Mmm I loved visiting Zumbo's pâtissier when I lived in Sydney. Yum. My favourite was the pistachio macaron

Salted caramel is the best! I'm going to go next week I've decided as my friend said he has a pancake/maple syrup Macaron that's unreal! The bad thing is when you go there ( apart from the long lines) there is sooo many cool things there that you end up spending $100 on sugar! Plus he makes amazing pumpkin sourdough !
