    DH is defence too, sometimes feels like i never see him. It can really suck balls.

    yep mine does FIFO 2 weeks away, sucks even more atm as im still working FIFO but 9n5 swings so for the whole of May i see him 3 days Ill just look forward to June when i finish and we get a whole week off together!
    Hats of to the people with Partners in Defence/Army/Navy - dont know how you do it!

    He's only away 12 days at a time now we have the kids and he is only a 45min flight away so he has all the comms and we text during the day and ds1 speaks to him at night so really isn't hard with him being away. He used to be away for 4 weeks at a time with no comms which was hard.

    My DP is in the army. He'd been home for over 4 months but is now going away again for 4 weeks :-/ Next year he might be away for months too. Not looking forward to the cold bed
