as a little one my DD didnt like the bath or shower much, so I only bathed her every 2nd day or so. Less often in winter and more often in summer ...

No - you do not have to bath them every night if its cold and they dont like it. A sponge off is just fine.

Every two - three days. DD1 has eczema, and bathing daily aggravates it. So we are in the same routine with DD2 now.

Plus they love long messy baths, I would have trouble fitting one in every night now.

I will sponge them down, and give extra grotty feet a wash daily.

My 4&2yr olds have a bath most nights but if I want them in bed early and we are running a bit late we might skip it (dinner is at 6, bath time around 7 and bed at 8).

What I don't get is how people say a bath at night is a relaxing part of the bedtime routine... It's anything but in our house!! 2 kids in the bath, bubbles, a heap of toys, giggles, singing and splashes are far from relaxing - perhaps its getting the last bit of energy out! Lol

I used to bathe him every night and he loved it, but the last 6 months he's hated them so it's been every 2nd/3rd day or if he's putrid then I put him in kicking and screaming ...
