    Cakes. I'm in vic

I find them to be a bit different from each other though. I lived in WA for years, was so disappointed they had no potato cakes as I found potato scallops too fat and small. Potato cakes are flatter & larger. But maybe the very few times I had a potato scallop in WA the place I got them from done them differently? Idk but all I know is their tiny scallops where nothing on a small dinner plate sized potato cake with chicken salt LOL!

me too .. QLDer all my life... potato cakes to me are more like fish cakes (you know .. where you mix potato, veges and salmon etc and then pan fry??) I've never ordered potato cakes, but I've ordered more than my fair share of potato scallops .. lol

I do have to say, when visiting QLD nd ordering a "potato cake" I get given this processed thing that's kinda like a Potato Scallop and no sane Sydney Hot food shop would sell.

Other - I would call it revolting.

However, I'm from Queensland and have heard others call them potato scallops.
