I bought the book "What to expect the first year", awesome book, has everything in it, breastfeeding, formula feeding, first aid, recipes and everything in between. My partner use to ask me questions, and i would answer, and he would be "are you sure" or "should we take her to the doctor". So i would grab the book and show him. Also has a section for dads in the book if you can get them to read it.

I also bought what to expect the first year, and borrowed a whole heap from friends. Saved me a lot of money that way!!!

I found most of the books generally have the same info, but what to expect the first year was the most comprehensive.

Side note tho, I put those books away after 5/6 months coz I found they were giving me unreasonable expectations about what my baby should be able to do at each age! I started fretting about baby girl's development etc and it just wasn't healthy I discovered, talking to my friends, that none of our kids reached milestones as quickly as the books said they could!

Books are great for general information but most of what I know I figured out on my own, and friends and family were greater sources of knowledge and helpful advice than all my books

The Baby Book by William and Martha Sears. My favourite (and I own a lot!).
