    I almost said the same thing re "happy funeral"

    I can understand saying "have a good ANZAC Day" but not "happy ANZAC Day"

    Depends who it is. If it's between Vietnam Vets then I take it differently than if some little radio jock or young tv presenter from those morning shows were to say it.

    I almost said this too but remembered it does not mark a happy day.

    That said it seems the dawn services are sad but afterwards people look forward to catching up, reflecting and playing two up... I doubt anyone who didn't know what the day marks would think its a sad day if they were standing in the many pubs and clubs that are full of people drinking and playing old games. It can be an easy mistake to say Happy Anzac Day and most likely not meant to offend or belittle the families of diggers lost.
