I once took both mine to the local hospital creche and lied about having an appointment, then went upstairs for an hour to the coffee shop for some peace and quiet.
OMGGG I love it, need to find out if my local hospital has a crèche

Great replies so far, some I have used

My son loves toilet paper. My son does not like tv, so that doesn't amuse him at all.

Ds wakes at 5.30am so every morning 'car on back boat' as he calls cars 2 goes on. This buys me 1.5hours of dozing on the couch time.

I bribe him with a cars yoghurt if he is good while we do the groceries!

I give DS 6 his craft set and let him go for gold and have baby gated off loungeroom out on abc2/4 and give DD 17 months free reign with about 5 million toys while I lay on the couch n get 1/2 hr rest. Or when DS is at school I ditch the housework study and sleep while DD is
