    Default 'close calls'

Has anyone had any 'close calls' in regards to something bad happening to their baby :-( I just did and now I feel sick.

Yes with DD1. And her cousin. When they were 18 months and 2 years respectively. They went missing and we found them standing on the edge of the irrigation channel, even worse it was at a junction where the water was like a churning whirlpool. It makes me sick to my stomach to this day

Oh my goodness that's a terrible memory :-( :-( he slid off some pillows I propped him up on, on my REALLY high bed and went to look in the mirror then looked back at him right on the EDGE of the bed on his face. He slid off the pillows. He's 8 wks. My life could have ended today.

DS1 was 2 and he was sleeping in my room and I was across the hall in the nursery so I shut the door to our room because he was a light sleeper. I was folding sheets and organising baby clothes ( I was pregnant with DD) and unaware he had opened the french doors walked across 2 roads and into the doctor's surgery to where his Nanna worked. She then arrived on my door step with him and my heart just stopped. Anything could have happened to him

My DD recently let herself out the front door and walked to the park at the end of the street. I had told her she couldn't go out until I finished the vaccuming and obviously she had other plans. We live on a main road and have since put a deadlock on the door and are selling our house. I don't want to live on the main road anymore I am too scared something might happen.

I was on the phone and i heard a car beeping its horn then break suddenly. Next thing i knew the guy from across the road is at my door step with DD (only wearing a nappy mind you) and the lady that almost hit her! I was speechless her car was still stopped in the middle of the road with the door open!

A few weeks ago DS 2 y.o was sitting on an ottoman in front of a window at mum and dads.... next thing he topples backwards and the window breaks into HUGE shards like you see people use as weapons in scary movies but luckily he only had a tiny scratch on his back, thank goodness for the lace curtains I think...
If he'd fallen backwards through the window one would of killed him for sure... Mum has had the window replaced with safety glass but whenever he goes close to a window I scream at him to get away... I feel sick whenever I think about it...
