Hoping you will have no problems. I have found the midwives to be great but not some of the doctors or registrars. They almost killed our first and were quite patronising about it - almost left him to die inside because he was on the smaller side and wouldn't believe our dates even though we had been TTC for years (with help). Had a very unnerving appt with EPAS doctor the other week who couldn't wait to get home but didn't do things right in the process, kept making mistakes, needing to be corrected and seemed to have little clue on a few things. Found out last week that they have just withheld results for one and a half months after D&C which showed that I should have been on meds after operation...go figure. Just as well I didn't 'rest-up' afterwards. We are heavily considering private for next one.

Yep, Gosford Hospy is just as bad!! Apparently Hornsby has a newish Mat Ward and have heard a couple of positives. Are you specifically after Public??

    Good luck!

ETA - Just wanted to add, that every hospy would have good and bad experiences and you probably do hear more about bad experiences...
    What's a "sun down"?

So since i started this i wanted to update. I was planning on going to gosford and had all my antenatal appointments there until 36 weeks where it all went sour and they told me what happened with my previous birth i made up and over exxagerated.

After ample panic attacks mu gp got me into john hunter, i had two appointments there and then my scheduled c section. They were fantastic. My last ceaser i had inadequete anaesthesia... John hunter had three anaesthetists in the operating room with me. One do work their stuff, one senior anaesthetist to overlook everything and one to hold my hand and explain everyrhing to me and make sure i was ok.

They not only gave me a correct spinal they also did tap blockers to make sure when the spinal wore off that i wouldnt be in alot of pain afterwards the director of the hospital came to ask how it went.

The first night they had 6 emergency ceasers and me on the ward, very very busy but still made sure i had everything i needed and helped me with bubba.

    Couldnt fault anything.

Im sorry to hear people have had bad experiences i know how traumatic and scary it can be. Maybe i was lucky this time. But i recieved amazing care as a public patient

Yes, unfortunately I think Murray is the head specialist there now. I did go above him and spoke with the head of staff, advised them of what he said and that I don't want him to contact me or come near me or my child. Also going to make a formal complaint against him. Even the midwives there are intimidated by him! Seems he has a bit of a rep...It's ridiculous that they have someone like that in charge of taking care of pregnant women and their babies - we need guidance and support, not bullying and intimidation!

Thank you for letting me know. I wonder where Symmonds went. There seems to be a high turn-over. Might go bump my post up about obs in newy just in case. It's a shame the good specialists haven't stayed.

Zombie_eyes I just wanted to thank you for updating your thread with the experience at JHH. I'm 28 weeks and am all booked into JHH because I was there with my sister when she had her 2 youngest boys. I couldn't speak any higher of the staff at JHH and this is the reason why I've chosen that hospital even though I live on the Central Coast.

There seems to be more horror stories available online as opposed to nicer ones so it's awesome when you can give some positive feedback
