I didn't know you were a hunter valley girl

I agree ElizaDoLittle, Maitland hospital is lovely, I have had dealings with Obs, the child pead, anaesthetist and midwives there and they have all been absolutely lovely. I had a private room there, they do give preference to women who have a cs for a private room and if you express some of your concerns early on I am sure they will endeavour to get you a private room. Let me know how you go and if you have any questions, I have connections

    JHH is awesome!!

The kids & I have spent A LOT of time there over the years on different wards.

I can't not fault any of the care we've had.

Mum2b09 & I were both in K3 for a month together (I literally lived around the bend from JHH), I had awesome care before & after delivery.

You'll always get some dodgy staff no matter where you are.

Instead of turning off the freeway to newcastle you would keep going towards maitland, the difference is only about 5k or 5 minutes. Depends on your transport I suppose, I think it would be preferable to Sydney. ETA whereis says it's about 78 kilometres from wyong

i had DD2 at JHH, couldnt fault them at all on my experience.

i spent a fair bit of time in and out of there while preg but always had a private room (PHI).

the actual delivery suite was great and i had wonderful midwives, i only stayed one night post-natal before transferring to maitland private.

bugger. I have not heard much really about john hunter. what i have heard has been good. and i chose newcastle private over gosford private on the basis that if for any reason i got transferred out to a bigger hospy id rather be in john hunter than gosford i have heard though that if jh are booked out they will refuse u if out of area. like to take u on i mean not when u actually go in to birth.
I've only heard a few things about hornsby too but its been really really good so maybe that's a thought?
