    Default How long to swaddle

Just wondering how long everyone swaddled their bubs for? We currently have DD (nearly 5wks) in a swaddleme blanket however my little weed is growing so quick she is getting cramped in the leg room.

Apparently there are larger sizes but I don't want to buy another if she won't use it for too long. I've read not to swaddle once they roll from side to side but we sleep her in a wedge thing so moving about isn't an issue.

So, should we buy another & continue (which she seems to love & sleeps well!) Or just transition to sleeping bags? Thanks

We swaddled until she was about 5 months and then transitioned to a wrap me up zip-up thing, which she was in until about 7 months when she started to wriggle and roll around in bed so we put her in a sleeping bag. HTH

DS was swaddled till 5 months and then went into a sleeping bag.

You don't need to worry about rolling till over 3 months, so I would go and buy the next size up if your bubs likes to be swaddled.

We started trying to wean DD off wraps from about 5 months however she was wrapped until she was 8 months and able to stand in her cot. I swear if she should have she would have used it to shimmy down!

8 months is really late apparently to get them out of them but it worked for us, I guess.

Next time I am going to try and avoid swaddling all together and stick bubs in a sleeping bag and tuck a blanket under them.

Thanks ladies. Seems like it might be worth getting the next size seeing as we may have another few months at least.

Im embarrassed to say we wrapped DS1 until he was 1! DS2 we stopped wrapping and he went into a sleeping bag at 3 months, which I plan to do with DD1 if not before.

I wrapped my ds til he was 10 months old, then he went into a sleeping bag with a muslin wrap loosely around him for another few months.

I thought I might stop wrapping my dd earlier, but she's nearly 7 months old and still in her Woombie - love the Woombie by the way - I just put her in it and zip it up. And she sleeps SO well in it. No escaping her Woombie. I just bought the bigger size for her cause she won't be stopping using it any time soon. I did buy the convertible one though that can be used as a sleeping bag when she wants her arms out. She's been rolling since she was 3 months old and rolls all around her cot in her Woombie no problems
