    Default Couple of questions

This may be too much information...

It's been a week since my D&C and I'm still bleeding (though not much), the doctor said I might bleed for another week. How long do most people bleed for?

Also, just wondering how long it take the preg hormones to leave your body, like in a couple of months would I still test positive on a HPT even if I wasn't pregnant?

ETA: Went to emergency room tonight as I was in terrible pain, which disappeared while we were waiting...as my temp and everything was normal, the nurse said it was probably just my uterus going back to normal, I hope so.

I am so very sorry for your loss. The bleeding after my D&C lasted 3 weeks after 2 I wen't back to the GP and was sent for an u/s all was fine and it is not uncommon for people to bleed this long apparently. It was just extremely depressing having this constant reminder. After the bleeding finally stopped AF came back 2 weeks later so I only had a lil break before it started again.

As for the hormones it depends how far you were when you m/c I was almost 12 weeks but it only took roughly 3 weeks for the hormones to leave my body. I hope this helps a lil and again i am really sorry you are going through this.

Take care and if you need any other questions answered feel free to ask.

Hugs hugs hugs. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I bled only for a week after my d&c. I also got some terrible pain after and was curled over crying. Turned put to be nothing?! But happened on & off for 3 days.

I was 14 weeks along but not sure how long the hormones take to leave. I got my period back exactly one month after we discovered bubs passed (missed m/c)

I hope you're coping okay. Pm me if you'd like to talk x x

I bled the day of the D&C and spotted for the next maybe 3 days and then it was over. I had some cramping the day after D&C but other than that, nothing. I stopped returning a positive HPT within 3 weeks of the D&C and had bloods which came back at 6. That day I ovulated.

I'm so sorry for your loss

Thanks guys, I was only 7 weeks but we didn't find out until I was supposed to be 12.

The bleeding is annoying me, I just want to move on.

I bleed for a week and a bit. 3 days after the D&C I ended up in hospital for two days with sever cramping and heavy bleeding with clots. I had the sever cramping for about 24hrs before I started passing the clots and no pain killers would take it away. I'm pretty sure it's normal to get pains off and on and they were sending me home until I starting bleeding and passing clots. Hang in there xxx
