Default What activities do you do with your 11 month old??

    Hi fellow parents!!

I've gone into a slight panic as my son nears turning 1... I'm a first time mum and want to make sure I am helping my son in the best possible way to develop learn and grow (I'm sure like most of us parents do for our kids)

What activities do you do with your 11 month old??

Appreciate any tips and hints and games to play with them.

    Hi Luisa

I also have an 11 month old and have recently concluded that he needs a bit more stimulation and wearing out, which is tricky as he's not walking so parks are out. My local library runs music sessions and story telling for little ones and pcyc runs kinder gym. I plan on checking these out soon. If you contact your local council or closest child family health clinic they can probably give you some info. Also there's playgroups all over the place.

I take mine for walks in the pram and it seems to exhaust her really well...I always take a different route for different things to look at

I know what you mean, its so hard to know how to stimulate their little brains - I am always looking for things to do (mostly because I get so bored lol).

We walk, have lots of playdates, jolly jumper, I am constantly singing ridiculous made up songs and dancing around and we read together quite a lot (apparently reading is the best thing you can do to help their language skills along). I have recently discovered that Miss Isla absolutely LOVES "helping" me cook, in the baby Bjorn - so have been baking a lot lately. Hubby loves it!!

I am always looking for things to do, so will keep an eye on this thread :-)

Hey there my 11 month old is walking and has been for a few months so this helps tire her out now. Some stuff she likes is climbing steps and on our big floor cushions. She likes pull along toys and taking her pram for walks. She likes dolls but mostly just to eat their faces and hair lol. She loves boxes big and small and pulling stuff out of boxes so I will put lots of stuff in boxes and let her make a big mess. She also likes playing with kids chunky jewellery and handbags etc but I have to stay with her the whole time as its a choke hazard. She likes sand and grass also.

    Great topic...

DD is just starting to walk now but we play peek a boo with a blanket, sing action songs, musical shakers and bells, we build block towers (she knocks them down) Shape sorters! I hold the shape and encourage her to push it in, she loves putting things in and taking them out so my tupperware boxes, lots of books to read together! chunky cars and pull back cars that go... farm animals (mostly to chew on lol) but we talk about the names and sounds. ball games, bubbles, crawls and I chase crawling behind her and I take her to the park she loves the swings and crawling in the sand, she also walks along the equipmemt holding on only at the ground level or I'll climb up with her and take her on the slide!
We go to indoor play gyms when im not at work/weekends I run a daycare from home so she loves toddling off after the bigger kids
