Default Walking in water/ dilation question?

Ok I have less than 6 days to try and go from complete closed and 2cms long to open enough to be induced. (on the bishop scale)

Anyhow I can only walk for a few minutes before the pain becomes too much. So I tried walking in the local pool and was able to go for a decent all be super slow walk.

I wonder if walking in water would help with the dilation or not.

My doubt come from the fact that if you go into a bath/pool to early in your labour it slows it down.

So now I am will it work or have just put myself through hell for nothing.

I'm no expert at all but I'd imagine that it would help since it is still excercise. It's not like you are floating in water and relaxing, you are pushing yourself hard.

I feel for you...I really hope that you can go into natural labour soon without having to be induced.

    That kinda what I thought.

I hoping that just being upright and moving would help.

I certainly paying for it now.

if baby's head is pushing on the cervix, even if you are in water, i would think that it might get things moving.

i loved walking in the water in my 3rd tri, if you enjoy it it can relax your body and mind which can help things start.

if you are looking at medical induction, why not try accupuncture or a pregnancy massage inclusive of induction pressure points?

I honestly don't know of anyone around here that does that. I am not sure they would at 38 weeks. The medical induction is for medical reason otherwise I would never consider it. I am normally a 42 weeker. As my OB says I have one super strong cervix.
