Default my body is confusing me!

i came off BC 3 mths ago, as we are TTC. I have had 2 regular AF's both 28day cycles. So according to that my AF was due yesterday? Im not sure when i ovulated. My phone app (i realise it's just an app and quite unreliable!) tells me i should have on the 2nd but i felt the ovulation pains on the 6th? Therefore my AF would be due around the 20th??
I have had cramping for the last two days. I have discharge that i have noticed in my underware, it's clear and claggy coloured and this is confusing me!
I feel like AF is about to arrive and im constantly going to the bathroom to check but only finding this discharge. I'm not 'wet' up there either. It's weird.

Does it seem stupid to take a HPT? Is it too early?
Im so confused, i thought i knew my cycles!

This cramping feesl like someone is dragging me down from my hips, it's all around my lower abdomen...kinda like period pain.

When coming off the BC pill it is common to not ovulate for the first few months so perhaps you didn't ovulate the first 2 months and this month you did. The pill stops your body from ovulating so your body would be trying to get back into a rythm where you do ov. I would say by the sounds of the pains you ov later than you thought (not being a 28 day cycle) so the 6th and therefore you are due on the 20th. It doesn't seem stupid to test now if you want to but make sure you get an early pregnancy test so it doesn't give you a false neg and cause dissapointment. The cramps could be normal too for early pregnancy so i hope you are preggers. Good luck and

Hi lilMuffin and thanks, i agree with everything you said and i think i'll (try very hard!) to hold off untill next week to take a test, maybe it's just a late period? Im not getting my hopes up as i thought my symptoms from my last 2 AF's were pregnancy symptoms. Taking that HPT is the burden of my life atm

So waiting for AF on the 20th and then i'll wait a bit more incase it's late. However i still dont know why i have these cramps now if AF isnt due for a few more days or so?
TMI - im also constipated :| grrrr

Is it possible to get a false positive result on HPT's?

It sounds promising with those symptoms!! But I would probably hold off on testing too soon.. I'm pretty new to ttc process too.. I think OPKs are a good start for when ceasing BC - it takes the guess work out of ovulation timing.. Good luck!!!

Yikes- I thought if you get your period off the pill it automatically means your ovulating!! I didn't realize its not always the case!

I have been using OPK's too so I can try and figure out when I'm ovulating but I haven't had a positive yet which is really worrying me :-/

I've been off the pill for over a year. My cycles got into a semi-regular rhythm but have recently gone really weird and I have no idea what's going on!! So frustrating, but also worrying.

I wonder in any of you have had experiences with alternative medicine such as acupuncture or shiatsu to regulate periods? I'm seriously considering seeing someone

Hi Justwant2beaMummy, i'm sorry i may be of no help for you i am fairly new to this whole TTC journey. I can only imagine how gut wrenching it must feel to be in your position.

I would deffinatelly be making an appointment to see your GP as you said it has been over a year since you came off BC. However, all bodies figure themselves and hormones out differently. I do know that it can take a perfectly healthy woman 6mths-2yrs to concieve after comming off BC.

It may just take time but a visit to your GP can maybe help you understand what is going on. They can do all sorts of tests to check hormone levels and ultrasounds to see if all your bits are working as they should be.

Personally, i would be dodging alternative medicine and heading straight to the doc at first. If there is nothing serious found, then i'd be looking into alternative "therapies" .

I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you get the help you are after
