Default Things I want to do/have for my children ...

I was watching an episode of A Baby Story yesterday where the parents were late to their induction because they stopped to get the local newspapers to give to their baby on their 18th or 21st to let them know what was happening the day they were born. I think its a great idea & left me thinking what do I want to do/have for my children?

I started to make a list last night (even though im not pregnant i know i know):

    1. The newspaper idea as above
    2. I want to put $20/week for each child into a bank account from birth (for things like first car, wedding, uni etc) but they will not know about it.
    3. I want to take a full body photo every birthday so at their 18th & 21st its like a time warp

What are some things you hope to do?

We have DS & pregnant with our second baby & we bought the paper the day he was born & have been putting $20.00 a week into his bank for the last year or so & will be doing it for our next one. It's a great idea about the photo thing each birthday

A friend brought my DD the newspaper the day she was born.
I love your photo idea I'm going to steal that!
I had the intention of doing the bank account thing but still haven't done it yet and my DD is 19months. I will when she is 2 and just back pay it.
My DH makes his own alcohol so he bottled some of him home brew (bourbon) and is going to keep it for DD's 21st and either give it to her or share a drink with her, he will do the same for any future kids.

I got a paper from the day DS was born...which was lucky because he was born a day before my planned induction at 12:55pm Luckily the hospital cafe had a bunch of copies they were set to throw out the following morning!

I regret not taking a pic of DS face every month for the first year. They change soooo much in that first year. When he was 11months I received a photo album that had 'my first 12 months' with a spot for a pic for each month and I kicked myself for not considering it beforehand!

Dont forget the first 'chewing on a giant steak' pic....unless your vegetarian/vegan of course.

There are HEAPS more that I always think about and wish I had thought of earlier but of course i have gone blank right now. Will come back if any come to mind.

Oh, a photo of the front of the house they first lived in and the car they arrived home in. Seems stupid now, but in 20years it will be a fond memory.

The song topping the charts when they were born - could be interesting to listen to on their 21st!
