Over the years I have received Austudy, FTB, rent assistance, baby bonus, CCR and CCB.

Why? Because I was eligible for each payment under the eligibility criteria in force at the relevant time.

    End of story.

The games section is just below the chat section in general, I myself have mashed the pad wrong and posted in the wrong area..

OP you've been on the hub this morning. Why aren't you interested in your own thread? Or was it just to stir the pot.

I was a SAHM and left my ex, so I had to receive benefits to be able to have a home to live in. I am applying for uni courses to begin studying full time next year (double degree Nursing/Midwifery), so I should be qualified and working in that field by the time DD starts school as it's a 4 year full time course.

My goal is to become self sufficient after I graduate and take my dad up on the offer of a house deposit (he paid my sister/BIL's house deposit and said I will get it too - very fortunate am I ).

I was kidding, it was probably (hopefully) a mistake.

    Am I on welfare? Yes
Why? Because I'm a single parent. FOB was no use in the father catagory (or brother, son, uncle, friend or perhaps even person catagory).
What have I done to better myself/get off welfare? I have studied since DS was 4 months old. Got a job at 9 months and went full time when he was 18months. In all that time (6.5years) I have had 6months off study. Now- I still receive a very small amount of pension working full time and studying part time. In a years time, I will still be doing the same thing (working full time and studying part time), earning no doubt the same amount of money (I apply for promotions within my workplace but have had no luck thus far).
