I know many people who self weaned after they started school 5-7, my MIL fed her two granddaughters (a year apart) until they were 7 and 6.

A lady at work expressed and fed her child BM twice a day from 4-7yo. She would have done it longer but got fed up with expressing.

Oh yeah. It was so creepy and gross.

I know kids lose their sucking reflex around 7 or 8 so that's as long as they can be fed for.

My mum BF'd my younger sister until she was 6. It ended up being only last thing at night before she went to bed and my mum let us decide when we wanted to stop because she thought it was for our benefit not because she wanted to.

I'm not so sure about that actually, I think it could be a bit of a myth.

That's what it said on the doco. The 7 year old daughter was accusing her mother of not getting any milk but because of a child's jaw at that age, they lose their sucking reflex.

Yeah, I do know it's accepted, but things I've seen and heard make me wonder. For instance places in the world where elderly people are breastfed. Obviously they can still get milk out, and even adult males can breastfeed off their partners if they so wish, some guys get really turned on by it... probably TMI!!!

Oh and that story about the guy in Changi prison who started lactating and feeding fellow prisoners...
