    Well, from launceston to Hobart is 2 hours max as the highway is pretty good. To drive west to east would be longer as the roads are windy.
    Like we do day trips to launceston and back easily enough
    I'd say stay at a few different places, one based in launceston so you can do all the local things there.
    One based in Hobart.
    One based near St Helens
    And one probably in Strahan
