Default Starting a small food business

Where do I start?! I'm wanting to start a mobile food business at my local farmers markets selling homemade healthy items out the back of a caravan. I'm just not sure of the legalities and where I would find them? I've got 2 forms to fill out to enquire about actually being at the market but that's it?! Any help? I was thinking if it takes off, driving around and selling off the street as well like a ice cream truck scenario.

    TIA!!

There are lots of different government sites that can help with what you need depending on state. But the best is SMART license it will let you know what licenses you will need.

Also google a few similar businesses (I know of one that operates out of a caravan, pm me for her details) as they might be able to give some advice/insight into what you need to do.

Google is the best thing Invented google your questions you'll be surprised what answers you'll find.

If you do the baking at home then you will have to contact your local council for info. Some are great, and some have crazy standards like a separate kitchen (or so I have heard). Each are different so you will have to call them.

I'm getting the ****s with Bubhub. Three times I've replied only to lose it on posting.

I see you are located in Adelaide.

You will have to check with your local council as rules vary vastly.
Where I am my local Council has no problem with a home kitchen but some foods such as dairy are banned so you have to check.
In most areas, you have to have your kitchen inspected.
Then you will have to check with your market as some of them have stupid rules.
Then you have to make sure you are properly insured.

It's a tough gig setting up a small food business.
