The public specialist was pretty easy to get in to. I just went to my GP and asked for a referral to the hospital that i wanted to go to, i gave the GP the name of the FS i wanted to see, but i only knew his name because an ex friend of mine recommended him to me. The GP referred me for all the tests that the specialist would ask me to get (all the bloods, u/s (for pcos), and the other one that you have to get every 2 years- i've got a mental block on it's name atm), and when i had done them all he wrote out the referral and sent it to the FS himself. You are suppose to be TTC for 1yr + before they'll refer you to a public one, but, we had been TTC for 2 years by then.

Once they get the referral you just wait for an appointment, we were told it was an 18month waiting list, but we got an appointment about 3 months after he first received the referral.

Call your local hosp and ask them do they have an outpatient FS (gyno), if not, ask if they know of a local hosp/not too far away hosp that has one.

munchkin- I don't let it bother me to much anymore, she always says and does dumb stuff. DH and i are united on what we want and we haven't let anyone steer us off course yet. She was just annoyed becasue she was going to send her mothers day pressie down with him instead of sending it in the mail. Plus, she thinks he never gets any time to himself/do fun stuff since meeting me, but every week he has up to 4 nights a week where he is either out playing sport (he plays tennis and cricket) or visiting/drinking with friends... i'm the one stuck at home all the time with DD (i don't mind) not being able to see friends much :/

About the clomid, with HCC and medicare card mine cost me $5.80 for 10 tablets, which for me is 3 months supply as i'm on 25mg for 2 months and 50mg after that. but, the normal price is $34 for 10 tablets from the chemist i got it from. I was advised to call around and ask them how much they cost though because some chemists can be as much as $80 for 10 tablets, but most are around $35 for 5 tablets.

Thanks girls for letting me know the cost of it.. I had no idea what to expect & wanted to know before putting the script in. Its alot better in price than what I was expecting, so thats good.

the price surprised me too. the hosp told me it would cost $80 from them, and i was expecting the same sort of price from the chemist!

Is it bad luck to collect baby stuff before your pregnant? I want to do some paintings for when we have a baby together, and want to start them now so that when it finally happens i won't be worrying about getting them done (it can take me quite a long time to get them ''right'') but someone told me it's bad luck now i'm worried. What do you all think? Am i jinxing it?

c2p08 - i have heard of it being bad luck to collect things, i wouldn't pay any attention to that though. myself, i have restrained from buying baby products as i think i would find it too painful to look at them and not have a baby to go with them!

but i really want to buy all the cute things you see in the shops. im going to go crazy when/if we have a baby

afm, well one of the girls i work with announced her pregnancy, shes 10weeks along. it was a bit of a blow, they got pregnant first go, of course. so now im fixated on the growing belly and will have to watch it all everyday. aaaarrrggghhh!!!!!!

Thanks hun, i've got some of my DD's stuff from when she was a baby (she's 5) and i bought my sister a couple of big boxes of baby stuff for when she had her baby (she's the one who got pregnant the week of my wedding last year, which i found heartbreaking and amazing at the same time) but i couldn't get down to visit her when the baby was a newborn (he's almost 4 months old and i can't get to visit her still, not sure whether it's a ''i can't'' physically or emotionally though) so we've got a big bag of the clothes. DD has used some for her dolls. My thoughts on the paintings is if i don't get pregnant and it hurts to have them around ill sell them to someone else. i've sold a couple of paintings in the past, so it shouldn't be hard.

Its so hard when you see others easily getting pregnant hey? My cousin has a DS 3 months younger then my DD and she doesn't look after him, he lives with her mum and she couldn't care less, she had a baby girl about 5 months ago and it's her princess, she adores this baby and does everything for her. It breaks my heart seeing the DS, he's such a sweet little thing. I'd give anything to have a DS of my own.

Oh, about my SIL, we saw her today, DH explained why he isn't going away from HIS perspective, and explained all the other FS and baby stuff to her and told her to give me a break and she actually apoligized. i was stunned. Now though i've caught her sore throat/cold/flu/cough thing she has. lol. can't win!

I realised that i should be starting clomid around 28/29 april not 3rd may, i miscalculated how many primolut n i have left and when in the next cycle i should start taking them.

Does anyone else feel a bit out of wack the closer you get to taking them? Worried or a bit touchy?

I've been collecting baby things for ages, I hope its not bad luck!! I only grab a few things here and there...usually when Target clears things out & they're literally marked down to $3!! I put them in a plastic container for future when I will need them. I love buying these things & will continue to buy little things here & there..bibs, jump suits, socks, blankets, etc, etc

Just to let you guys know, I'm going to have to leave the thread. I prob won't be able to start clomid in May due to some health reasons & will have to wait until June or later. So I've decided to take a break for a while from TTC. I really need a break & will try & be off bub hub for a while I think.

Good luck to everyone, I really hope it all goes well for you all & you get your BFP's!!! You all deserve it soooo much!!

Hi everyone can I join you?

I am seeing a ob/gyn on Thursday to hopefully be prescribed provera and clomid. Came off the pill in december and not had AF since. Really upset about it as was expecting to conceive straight away like I did with DS!
Had all the blood tests and u/s with my GP and all came back normal. So think its just the effects of the pill. But 4 months on something needs to be done as its not normal!

I am excited about getting things started but nervous that the ob/gyn might not give me the drugs I want and try to make me wait months longer! I am going to be firm if need be! Luckily only had a wait a month for appointment at a public hospital.

Can't wait to be a mummy again! All my friends seem to be expecting their 2nd bub already!!!

    Hi c2p08,

Thanks for that I got Ross River (from mozzies - thats Nth QLD for you!!) & have been on sick leave for the last three weeks. Have been a little better but not what I was hoping to be..so I've spoken to my doctor who thinks I should wait longer. I didn't want too but have recently decided too (after a very painful day at work). I guess I need to completely get better before starting clomid.

I'm still going to check in every now & then though & see how you're all doing!
