    Default Childcare benefit/rebate question...

I am thinking of putting DS3 into childcare for one day a week, just to grab a little sanity time, spend quiet time with DD, get housework done, etc.

I am not working or studying, and DH would earn more than any income tests would allow.

Does anyone know if I would be eligible for any part of any childcare rebate or benefit? TIA

I think the ccb cuts out in the very low 100k. I can't remember the cut off and am on my phone.

Ccr is only if working, studying or on maternity leave etc.

I found a link and it's about $138k for one child in care, and more for more chidren in care.

But I don't think you get much ccb once you earn more. We earn under 100, and get 20 in ccb per day (fees are 74), but we get ccr which makes it affordable.

Op, is your child kindy age? A short kindy day might be more affordable.

You won't get the rebate unless you meet the activity test, or you have a disability or are a carer for someone with a disability or illness.

Many thanks for your replies. I'm just trying to get my head around whether it's something we can afford. He's only two, so he's not ready for any kind of play school until next year.

Is there any centres nearby that run occasional care? I used to send DS when he was 2 for a couple of hours per week....it was under $5 a session from memory.
