    Default Low lying placenta

Hi everyone, had my 20 week scan yesterday and I was told that I have a low lying placena. It's 1cm from my cervix.
Anyone else had this and it moved up before birth?

I did, had another scan at 32wks it had moved but not enough, he scheduled another scan for 37wks but bub came before that by csection due to breech, low placenta, spontaneous labour. Each preg is different, best of luck.

1cm is good, it could move I think but you never know. Mine did not but I meet so many people whos did. You just need to prepare for both 'types' of birth which is REALLY annoying!!!

My last one was low lying but had moved up by my next scan, from memory 83% of low lying placentas move as the uterus grows just how you blow a balloon up, so if you put in a breath, draw a low lying dot and blow it up more you will see it travel up and away

Great advice, I did this too.... Just Incase, glad I did I ended with an emergency c-section made it easier to cope with.

My placenta was low lying at my 20 week scan. I prepared myself for the possibility of not being able to have a natural birth.

I had a quick scan at every appointment with my ob and placenta wasn't moving. She sent me for one last scan at around 36 weeks to see exactly how low my placenta was and unfortunately I had grade 3 placenta praevia.

I was booked for a c section 39 weeks (I think my ob would have liked a week or 2 earlier but unfortunately that would have fallen over Christmas/New Year period).

Best of luck with your pregnancy. I do hope your placenta plays nice and moves!
