Default Sick baby for his 1st birthday...

    Hi everyone!
It's been ages since I've posted here!

My DS turns 1 on Sunday and we're having his birthday party on Saturday. On Monday I took him to the doctor because he has a temp and a rash - turned out to be a virus!! Now, this morning he has woken up with a bad cough - so, off to the doctors again today!

My question to you all - should we go ahead with his party or postpone it? And if we go ahead, should we notify all guests that DS is sick, particularly those bringing kids of their own??

Oh Babymoore, I could have written your post last year. DS was in hospital for 2 weeks with broncilitius before his 1st birthday. He got out 3 days before his birthday 5 days before his party. We told everyone we were still going ahead with his party and it was up to them if they came. Everyone came and DS had a great time even though he was still a little poorly.

    DH 35 + Me 35 = DS April 10 and DD August 11

I am another that had a sick baby on her first, second and fourth birthdays *sighs*...... On her first birthday she had a cough and a wicked head cold and we just texted everyone and let them know in case they wanted to stay away - everyone ended up coming though It's only Thursday today, I'd say he'd be much better by Saturday anyway, particularly if he's been sick since Monday!!

If you do have the party definitely notify guests of the illness so they can decide if they still want to come or not. I wouldn't go - but i am very uptight about illness.

    How's the serenity?
