    Default Advice needed!

I'm from the UK so new to Australia and the whole healthcare system. I really want a no intervention natural birth if possible but have no idea how to go about getting this! We have medicare and want to use the public system because we can't afford anything private etc...
What do we do once we get our BFP? We just use a walk in center at the moment and I just assumed we'd go in and they'd tell us where to go next?

I'm just terrified that if I go into a hospital they won't listen to anything I want... :-/

    Please help!!!

Some hospitals have birth centers attached which offer a more natural option to childbirth with the availability to be transferred to the main maternity section if any complications arise. Generally u would book into ur gp and discuss ur birthing options wit them once u have ur bfp and let them
Know where u might like to go and they will refer u

Hi I had my baby at Royal Prince Alfred in Sydney. They have a birth centre attached which I started out in (I was transferred to delivery ward to be induced eventually). As soon as I found out I was pregnant I just rang them and booked in to birth centre. You can do shared care with your GP if you like but I just let the birth centre take care of everything. They were very nice and supportive there. (as were the midwives in the delivery ward when I transferred across). Good luck

Thanks ladies! I've had a look at birth centres in the area and there seems to be one quite close... I guess I just call them when I get the bfp... I don't wanna be stuck without a place!
