Super high AHM what does it mean?

198!! Im almost 26yrs old but the specialist said that number is way off the chart and she would need to be really careful with stimulation of my ovaries.

Just wondered if anyone can explain for me please what it might mean for my assisted TTC journey? I'm on clomid atm but worried now this could create problems if I need to go to injectables or IVF? Has anyone had any positive stories with high ahm?

Do u know how many eggs u release while on clomid? And what dose ur on?
I've not had ny AMH tested but I'm 32 and on 25mg of serophene days 3-7 and I produce about 7 follies judging by my bloods.

I've just done round 1 of clomid 50mg day 2-6 and had scan on cd12 which shows no dominant follicles so having another scan in 6 days then prob starting again on 100mg.

I'm just worried cause this number seems way higher than others' and even the specialist was like "oh this could be interesting you're way off the scale!".

I guess I just have to wait and see and hope I get a better result with clomid round 2. Seems everyone responds differently to all these things. Just sucks never knowing what's going on or how long this journey could be.

Greenfairy, do you know if you have PCO/S? generally a REALLY high AMH indicates PCO as it is a hormone that I think is produced by the antral folicles in the ovaries. It is one thing to be young with a "good" ovarian reserve (a normal-high AMH) but REALLY high AMH levels usually indicate PCO (or possibly multicystic ovaries).

Are you taking Clomid because you aren't ovulating by yourself or have eratic cycles??

Mostly AMH is a marker of ovarian reserve, but a really high one is almost no use in that respect. Basically, a high AMH is less an indication of your ovarian reserve and more an indication of dose/response to fertility drugs (such as injectibles) as you are more likely to over-respond.

The good thing is, a high AMH is much more optimistic (and treatable) than a low one. It may be that they take things slower and you need more scans/blood tests, but all for a good cause!

Thanks Veggiemama yes I do have PCOS and that's why I'm on clomid. I'm pleased to have your reassurance that super high isn't all bad news. We just have to take these results in our stride don't we, not much else we can do!

Hey greenfairy. I am wondering how you are going. I had a positive ovulation reading this morning via the urine tests so I guess this means my body is preparing for ovulation.
I am wondering if you have had any changes?

No news here, I've pretty much written this cycle off after my scan the other day. doc said no point bothering with opk and I've got another scan Monday anyway. I'm just looking towards starting provera again next week then back for clomid round 2.
Feeling alright though, we are building a beautiful deck at home which has been an exciting distraction and I've been searching for what furniture I'd like

Oh great you are holding up ok. Distractions are a wonderful thing and shopping for furniture sounds fab. Let the creative juices roll. I miss the big living spaces Australia offers.
I am keeping my feet on the ground with the positive test as so much could not work from here. We have already had a year of disappointments so another to add to the pile would be a shame yet manageable.
I had another very positive dark pink line this morning on the opk and am not sure if getting this result two mornings in a row is normal at O time. Do you happen to know?
Anyway I am sure time will tell, 2weeks approximately.

Yeah I agree about not getting your hopes up, I'm finding just focusing on and preparing for the next step in treatment helps (so far) that way I'll be super surprised if things work out but not hugely disappointed if they don't.

Yeah I work here too although I have quit my job last week and have 3 weeks left. I don't like my job and the stress doesn't help with ttc so we decided to focus on that for the next few months.
I had my 3rd positive opk result this morning. One more left in the pack for tomorrow. Hope we catch the egg then the challenge is to get it to stay

I am not really temping but am reading ewcm. From my understanding with pcos you can get false readings. Is that something you have heard too? I guess the only way you know you ovulated is by scan which is not what I have done this month.
I agree that it is easy to get caught up in all the testing and become obsessed but when it is difficult to conceive you feel you have to do something

I am just hoping the ttc journey comes to an end soon so we can move to the next faze of the journey. We only want one little addition so that would be a blessing for us.
How many were you guys planning for?
