Default For those with autistic children?

At what age did you get a diagnoses? My son is 2.5 and we have suspected theres something different about him for a while now, hes just been diagnosed with sensory proccessing disorder and global development delay but I think theres more to it, our pead said he is too young for a diagnoses yet but our ot asked me today to again mention to my pead about him possibly being on the spectrum? What age was yoyr child diagnosed?

    Hello.

My first son was dx at 6.

My second son was dx at 2.5yrs of age.

They also both have spd and language disorders.

My toddlers speechy wrote a letter for us to the paed to help back us up,With her observations and opinion... which then he sent us off for all the assessments.

Thanks for the reply diamondeyes I may get my ot to write a letter, I just feel like our pead isnt taking my concerns seriously enough, she only sees him once every 3 months or so for about 10 mins, where as our OT sees us alot more and for longer periods.

def get OT to write a letter voicing her concerns, it goes a long way.

also (i dont know if u would be accessing assesments maybe publicly) but if u are going to go private for psych assess and all the rest (u usually need psych asess, ot assess and spech assess) say to the paed, you would like to get an assessment for your own peace of mind, and that you will be paying for it so you have a right to get it investigated further.

best of luck. its awful when u dont have people on your side.
