    Default Gifts for baby boy??

Hi everyone - I'm having my first child (a son) in 5 weeks and family are starting to ask what I'd like to receive when he's born...but it seems they're not keen on 'practical' stuff but more 'something memorable that will last'. Anyone have any suggestions on what I could ask for?

Girls I could ask for jewellery, but boys are tricky...and I really don't want bunnykins china or a silver comb he'll never use.
    thanks!

What about a gift certificate to have his photo and foot/hand casts done when he's a week or two old? Another great gift is some Marquis singlets and body suits. They could have the non embroidered ones embroided with his name to make them more personal. We have them for DS and they are beautiful.

Books like the very hungry caterpillar or the touchy feely "that's not my ..." book range, or possum magic etc.
Bunnikins also do a melamine set which we received as a set which ds loves.
Squeekers. Alimrose do a great pirate. We also had beach towel of a pirate, and bucket and spade. Teddy bears.
Cot comforters or towels you can also get ones with name embroidered. A nice pram blanket. Baby rattle.

Once you've decided what gifts you'd like, you may create a registry on thankyou.com.au - you can list anything from any store anywhere.

I like the photogRAPHY gift certificate idea! Good luck on your pregnancy!
