Default Do you think I would get a refund/exchange on this (target clothes)

I bought DD (23 months) some leggings from target, she's worn them maybe 5 times, just at home or shopping. Yesterday she had them on at the park and I noticed a large hole in the back of the knee. It's not a ragged tear, but a straight, clean line.

I have no idea how it could have happened, she hasn't been wearing them anywhere she could have done that. Do you think I should take them back? I'm really disappointed with the quality, especially as Target is plugging their kids clothes as being 'Target tested' at the moment (ie they will grow out of them before they wear them out).

I would. The product should last longer than that. I've taken faulty items back to stores even after several months. Especially if only worn a little bit.
What's the worst that can happen? They'll say no or give you an exchange. Go for it!!

I don't bring clothes back with tags still on them so no I would not bring back something that has been worn a few times and which would not have cost much being from Target (and so the quality would not be high end so it can easily tear when worn).

No harm in trying. I've taken stuff back to target a few times without the tags/receipt after its disintegrated after the first wear and wash.

As you said they advertise as being great quality etc

I've worn shorts a few times, they stretched so much I couldn't fit them anymore and I've taken them back. I was given an exchange coupon.

I've done it with clothes that have torn, streched or shrunk. If you have a receipt it's easier. Otherwise you can exchange if they still have the item or get a store credit.

I would imagine that with all the "target tested" advertising you may have a chance... I always hear advertising for them going on about how their kids clothes are made to last, 5 wears, in my opinion is not lasting regardless of the price.

Clothes should last more than 5 washes, clearly.

You should get a refund unless it looks like it is a tear from something sharp, or you don't proof of purchase.
