Default Induction with no s&s or gel

    Hi,
Im currently 40+6 days pregnant and my ob has booked me in for an induction tomorrow.
He wants to just break my waters straight away. He hasnt done any internals or anything yet, so Ive had no stretch and sweep or gel or anything.
Do you think I should demand to have this first? I really dont want to get induced. Ive had the ctg montior on bubs yesterday and all is perfect, as am I (and have been all pregnancy)
I feel like Im being rushed into this :/
    Thanks for your help.

I'd wait a couple more days, there's the whole cascade of intervention... Get out a do some walking, try all your natural avenues first. I went to 40+9 with my 3rd cause I fought hard to go naturally after 2 inductions. I was also a high risk patient.

Don't be rushed. U can say NO! As mentioned in a previous post he would have to do an internal exam to determine if he can just break your waters or if your cervix is closed. If u are happy to wait and bub is fine then wait. It's your body and your baby and unless he has a medical reason for doing so there is no need for induction!

I have no idea!!!!! Im so unhappy about it all. I called his offices to see if they could get him to call me this morning but that was 4 hours ago and I still havent heard anything.
Im seriously comtemplating refusing to go. Im feeling very rushed with it all and I dont see why I cant just wait awhile longer?

I'd say he wants to get things moving before the weekend listen to your instincts.

OP, this is YOUR body YOUR baby!! If your feeling apprehensive about this then do your research. You can ask for a scan to make sure your fluids are up and fine and keep going until BUBS is ready!!! Follow your mummy gut instincts!!!
