Haven't known anyone who did it for weight loss but know someone who had I for smoking, and it worked :-)

I know someone who is seeing a hypnotherapist for this right now. It's more dealing with food issues than just magically making her lose weight though.

She's said it's changing her attitudes about food... but I'm not sure if it's actually making her lose anything. She doesn't need to lose any weight, but she thinks she does and is so obsessed with that that I think she's seeing this person to help her get over it and realise that life will not end if she doesn't drop 5kg. So her issues are a bit different to someone being obese or whatever... she's even at the lower end of the healthy weight range for her height...

But I suppose if it's making her feel better about food, and not be so ruled by it, it might help someone who is obese/overweight and needing to lose weight if food is their main issue...

This is what I want, not to magically have a solution but to help change my attitudes towards food, hopefully making it help me lose weight in the long run.

That is all hypnosis is capable of - helping you accept & embrace a new point of view & let go of negative/unwanted behaviours. It'll only work if you're into it - if you go in skeptical you probably won't get as much out of it as someone who really believes they'll get lasting results from it. I'm now practising hypnobabies in preparation for my upcoming birthing - I'm a hypno junkie but honestly, I get such great things from it & I really enjoy it so why not eh?
