Interest free, just always pay it off before it due and make sure you can afford it

Save for it if I am Involved in the purchase...(fridge, couch, the expensive stuff)
Dh went on a bit of an interest free bender not long after we moved to our second rental and we are still paying that off
Now as I said, I put my foot down and we save

Normally credit card, but we use the cc like a revolving cash facility, so we essentially pay in a lump sum. We just bought couches which we paid off over the 6 weeks we were waiting for them to be made and delivered.

We purchased our fridge from good guys and they don't do layby but we paid deposit after we had agreed on price and picked up and paid balance 3 weeks later when we were ready for it. Kind of worked like a short layby then without being called a layby.

I needed a new couch so rent from radio rentals. Will never do that again. If i can apply for an interest free period in the future, i would rather do that.

When we bought our house we decided we would buy new appliances and new bedroom furniture. We had the money saved so paid for it all outright.

In the past we have used interest free which was great as we always paid more than the minimum monthly payment and paid it off before the interest free term ended.

Interest free for us. I've bought a dyson vacuum cleaner, dining setting, fridge, washing machine, dlsr camera etc over the years and never paid a cent interest.

Work out how much you need to pay weekly to pay off the item/s and then make sure you pay it. I usually transfer $50 as soon as I've bought the item to give myself a little bit of a buffer as well.

We buy outright. If we don't have the money then we don't buy it - simple.
Luckily most of the time we don't have to save, but if we had to we would.

Save up. I don't like living above my means, I prefer to spend what I already have. I got a car loan for our car and it's a huge regret of mine, I wish I had of saved up instead.

We recently bought a dining table and chairs, TV stand, spare bed and couch outright and it feels so much better actually owning it, as opposed to owing money.
