    Default gestational surrogacy questions

    Hi everyone,

Happy couple here. just wanting to ask a question. We live in Queensland and was wondering when going through surrogacy do they consider your age to be a reason why you cant have children? I am almost 41 and cant get pregnent (read thread below for all info).
    So can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Hi Happy Couple..

I have been looking into the QLD laws surrounding surrogacy as I would like to be a surrogate. This is the Department of Justice site.. Lots of great information

    http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/justic...ages/surrogacy

All the best.. Hope this helps!

    Warms wishes

    Hi,

simrach the reasons i have not been able to concieve is that my tubes have been totally blocked they are not exactly sure why they are blocked when i had them checked a few years. though i do have endometriosis and they think that may be the reason but not sure. My tubes are also not in the right positions they all over the place. I also have adhesions and cysts on ovaries. We have tried two ivf cycles with no success.

    What do you think

You would be able to pursue donor eggs though? You don't need your tubes or ovaries to get pregnant using donor eggs. If that option is available to you, I would look into it. It is a lot cheaper and easier to have a child through egg donation than surrogacy, plus if you haven't tried using donor eggs, you will not be legally eligible for a surrogate unless you have documented proof of not being able to carry a baby yourself, or unexplained infetility. I hope that helps. If I were you I would talk to your IVF doctor about your chances of getting pregnant using a donor first before pursing surrogacy. I hope that helps
