My ds was about 7.5 months when he got 4 teeth in a week, but that's not early I don't think .

BUT, my friend was born with a tooth! Yep, apparently it happens, it's rare, but possible!

Okay DS is 6 wks and I swear he has a tooth coming in?! What else would a hard white thing be in his gums!!? He's been acting quite restless and crying a bit but it's not colic because he sometimes gets that and I can tell it's a totally different pain.

DS1 started teething at 4 months and got several through at once.

Given his age, it is likely a growth spurt. The hard white thing on the gums could be Bohn's nodules (harmless cysts, not uncommon) or they could just be the appearance of his gums. My niece's gums were always hard with whitish bumps, it always looked as though teeth were going to pop through at any moment.

He could also be teething though, of course. Early teethers certainly aren't unheard of

Both my ds's had a bud on the bottom at 4mths, ds1's first tooth broke through soon after and was a terrible teether from day dot. Ds2's got his first 3 all at once at 6mths. Thank heavens ds 2 is having a much easier time with it. He has just turned 1 and has 9 teeth and more coming!
