Default Ovarian cyst - no big deal???

Hi. I'm 22 weeks pregnant with #2. During my 19week scan the monographer asked if I'd been previously told I had a cyst on my ovary. I said no. She said it wasn't important anyway. This bothered me so a few minutes later I asked her if I should have been told about a cyst if there was one. She said she isn't even sure there is one, and if there is it doesn't matter anyway as it's not a big deal.
Really? I don't even know if I do have a cyst, but surely that isn't normal and something that needs to be checked further. I have no idea. Does anyone know?
    Thanks.

I got told the same thing when I was pregnant and having scans. They said that when you are pregnant you can get pregnancy related cysts and it is completely normal. I on the other hand still have them and DD2 is 3 months old so they now in the process of working out if I have PCOS or the other nasty thing I dont want to say. But they dont seem too worried as cysts are really really common apparantly and our bodies do all sorts of weird things while pregnant.

    Dont stress.

I've had non-pregnancy related cysts and one while pregnant. They are usually nothing to worry about, but can cause pain.

The one I had when pregnant was just from the egg releasing. Not sure why I got the others, but they disappeared on their own too and my Dr wasn't worried either time.

Talk to your Dr at your next appt and see what they say just to be sure.

hi, I had a largish cyst that I was in process of discovering and monitored through ultrasounds... its began to cause pains etc and was making me feel unwell... it turned out that it was cycle related... I fell pregnant with me second bubba soon after finding out about the cyst... and the rest of the ultrasounds we put on hold... the doc didn't seem worried about it and my ob/gyn didn't seemed phased at all by it. I am now 16 weeks pregnant and it hasn't bothered me since... if you begin to feel discomfort or pain then ask to have it checked through ultrasound to make sure everythings ok... and just make sure they monitor it... good luck!!!!

Thanks for all the replies. I will definitely ask the doc at my next check-up. I didn't know anything about it so 'cyst on your ovary' freaked me out when I heard it!
