    Default Tubes tied and caesarean

    Hi all,

I have an 8 year old who I gave birth under a GA caesarian. This pregnancy is a complete surprise, and I am only 6 weeks but I am already thinking of having another GA C-section and getting my tubes tied at the same time. Do OB/GYNs generally do this? Or will I have to shop around?

Hi am having my first cs (third child) In June and they are tying my tubes while they are in there.
I am going through public hospital so just ask your Ob/Gyno :-)

They do, but having your tubes tied at the same time as a C/s carries a higher risk of failure. Also, if you are giving birth in a Catholic hospital, you won't be able to have this done as they do not allow contraceptive surgery.
