    Question Side effects of Clomid

Hey everyone, i'm due to start clomid within the next few days and i'm just wondering what everyone's experiences with it are, What are the side effects? I've been told by MIL (who was told by her doctor boss) that clomid makes you incredibly moody/sensitive. I've heard it increases your chance of having twins as well.

I'm nervous and very excited about it. I was suppose to start it 3 months ago, but my specialist wanted me to wait til now to start it.

So, my question is, what are your experiences with it, What are the side effects you've experienced and how long (if you no longer take it) were/are you on it, was it successful or not?

I was slightly more moody on it, but not too bad. My only main side effect was painful ovulation.
My fs said chance of twins was 8% on clomid, so not too high.
I got my bfp on my 4th cycle of clomid with one bubba

I found I was a bit more moody than usual, and especially on one night where I had a few drinks...

We got pregnant on our 2nd month of Clomid, with one bubba. Both months I did follicle tracking and had two eggs, so approx a 10% chance of conceiving twins.

Oh my gosh, I was soooooo moody. I stoppped and started because I just couldn't stand being like that for months in a row iykwim. I eventually got my bfp after 4 attempts, however it still didn't make me ovulate within a normal 28 day cycle.

I've had 4/5 tablets on my first round and so far so good with no side effects. Do you other ladies get moody while on the tablets or once you finish the course?
I was on provera for 2 weeks prior and 2 days after finishing them had a massive mood crash but have been feeling good since.
The not knowing how these drugs would affect me was a bit scary but I've had a fairly easy run I think so far... Just hope that doesn't mean it's not working!!
I hear symptoms can vary from cycle to cycle though too, have others found this even when on same dosage?

I was on clomid from day 5- I became moody by day 8 until day 11 or 12. I was on the same 50mg dose every month, but found that my moods were less in the following months. Month 1 was very bad which was why I never did it for consecutive months, it left a really bad impression and fearful I would lose my job. My moods were THAT bad.

Thanks for the replies.im nervous about starting it as I've been on primolut n for 2 months which is bascially like the pill (to regulate everything) and its made me really moody.

DH has been really worried to because we've been waiting to start this for atleast 2 years.

Why were you all using clomid? (if you dint mind my asking). Were using it because I have pcos. Does anyone else have that or is over weight?

Also, what day of your cycle did you start it?

I did cd 2-6. I used it for weak and late ovulation with a short luteal phase. It brought my ovulation from around cd21 to cd16 and lengthened my luteal phase from 6 or 7 days to 10-12 days.
A little bit overweight, bmi was 26.5.

I was sooooooo moody!! Dh just had to look at me and I would fly off the Handel at him... Doesn't make for good dtd moods I did two rounds and it didn't work for us because of my strange reactions to it.

I have pcos and was overweight after two failed rounds ob out me on genox to try and when that didn't work I went on fsh injects.. We tried for 3 years before I got my bfp its a hard and emotional journey wishing you and your dh all the luck

    Good luck

I took 50mg CD 5-9, due to pcos
I was very emotional, but I think a lot of it was mental rather than actually from the drugs because it continued well after the 5 days. No physical side effects at all.
I got pregnant first month with boy/girl twins.
    Good luck!!
